Backstabbers are not only hypocrites, they are serial killers

Backstabbing is hypocrisy — in action — because a backstabber pretends loyalty to a person while secretly destroying their reputation. This deceitful act is often accompanied by slander, gossip, and discord — all of which are unequivocally condemned in Scripture (Colossians 3:8; 1 Peter 2:1; Romans 1:29; Proverbs 17:4; 2 Corinthians 12:20).

The Holy Spirit revealed that backstabbing is not merely a sin; it is Satan’s instrument of destruction in interpersonal relationships. In that, people are empowered by serpentine(snake-like) spirits to destroy souls. He told me, “Anyone who engages in slander, gossip, or discord has already committed murder in his heart. His throat is an open grave, ready to consume as the grave does to a body; and he fulfills this through constant deceit.” (Romans 3:13)

The truth is, that backstabbing is the sin of murder, whether viewed spiritually or naturally(wordly). Their words inflict deep wounds on the soul. In modern psychology, the five core soul wounds caused by backstabbing are rejection, abandonment, humiliation, betrayal, and injustice. As it is written, “Reckless words are like the thrusts of a sword, cutting remarks meant to stab and to hurt” (Proverbs 12:18 TPT).

Words are sharp blades — knives, swords, or arrows — and when spoken carelessly or maliciously, they can cause profound destruction, even if unintended. Often, victims of backstabbing do not fully recover from these wounds; some spiral into depression, low self-esteem, or even suicidal thoughts. I tell you the truth, a wounded soul can feel like death itself.

If these words are not compelling enough, consider the wisdom of Jesus himself in Matthew 5:21–23:

“You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

If this word ministered to you, please understand this truth:

This kind of destructive speech can never be justified, no matter how unintentional. Heaven sees a backstabber as one who gratifies himself by dipping hands in other people’s blood(1 Chronicle 28:3). This is why, backstabbing is the unlawful homicide of multiple people because it truly is character assassination.

If you have stabbed someone in the back — intentionally or unintentionally — do not justify your sin. The Bible warns that if we claim we have not sinned, we deceive ourselves, and the Spirit of truth is not in us (1 John 1:8). Forgiveness can bring you peace, but only if you repent.

“𝑰𝒇 𝒘𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒔, 𝑯𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒖𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒇𝒚 𝒖𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒖𝒏𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔.” — 1 John 1:9

And to the afflicted:

God is not silent over your matter, He never left or forsook you! Your broken heart reached His Throne and heard all your bitter lamentations.

Abba does not take lightly when injustice has been done to His servants — especially when one never defended themselves. As it is written “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm”(Psalm 105:15). This statement is true, but only when God is fighting your battles. He will fight for you only if you remain silent (Exodus 14:14).

In the name of Jesus Christ, I speak over you by His mercies; every spiritual murderer who planted negative words in your life will be made an example of to warn others that absolutely nothing and no one will withstand the power of God. Neither will their weapons prevail, for your Lord will condemn every tongue that accuses you. ( Isaiah 54:17)

In the same way, God restored me to wholeness, I pray for you, by the power that is in the Blood of the Lamb, may your wounded soul be healed and restored to wholeness in Christ Jesus. Amen.
