Prophetic Numbers I: The call to see with prophetic vision.
"God is quietly speaking through numbers. Numbers are a Biblical means God speaks to His people. For those sensitive to "See" with prophetic vision what God is revealing, are hearing His voice loudly. "
By Destiny Eastgate
One of the most powerful ways God speaks to me is through number. God has many languages but one voice. On several occasions He has revealed a different way of communication — it’s mostly the same word but with a deeper revelation. As Job puts it well:
“For God speaks once, And even twice, yet no one notices it [including you, Job].”
Job 33:14 AMP
Most Christians know God speaks through dreams, visions, audibly, reading the Bible, a sermon or a song. But really you cannot limit the voice of God to any of these. God speaks in many ways and one of them is through numbers?
Lets look at some significant Biblical examples of numbers:
SEVEN (7)
Seven is the number of divine completion because God completed creation on the 7th day and made it "a day of rest".
“And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.”
Genesis 2:3 KJV
Moreover, seven is also the number of divine perfection or sanctification. On the seventh day God blessed and sanctified it. God in his wisdom did not just bless the day but he extended the blessing and purification to the number. Where ever you see the number seven in the Bible, in a dream/vision or in your waking life. Recognise seven as the mark of completion and holiness (both physically & spiritually).
Fun Fact: Do you know the Lord’s Prayer contains seven petitions. When Jesus was asked how we should pray (Matthew 6:9-13). In response, Jesus gave us the Lord’s Prayer...really what a perfect way to pray considering that the words came from the Son of God.
FIVE (5)
Another interesting number is Five, its often symbolic of Gods grace, goodness and favor toward humans . The number multiplied by itself, which is 25, is 'grace upon grace' (John 1:16). In fact, your physical body is a gift and an extention of Gods sufficient grace to you. You have 5 fingers on each hand, 5 toes on each foot and 5 senses.
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destory; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are" 1 Corinthians 3: 16-17
Without these you would not survive on this earth. Our Heavenly Father created our bodies as a tabernacle for our spirit to assist each of us in our quest to fulfill the full measure of our creation. Five is a powerful number, Its ones of those numbers you come across in the Bible that reminds you of how gracious and kind our Father is to man. When you see five, regonise the mark — the grace of God.
I remember the first day I was going to sell vegetables in the market for the first time. The night before I asked God to show me a sign of his presence. The following day, it was around 7am, I was on the Tuk tuk - I saw five white goats on the way. I was excited because I knew God was speaking through the encounter.
"The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field."
Proverbs 27:26 KJV
It was the grace of God that we were able to have successful negotiations with customers, and sell all our vegetables.
There are many other numbers mentioned in the Bible. But what we need to understand is how God can reveal a word through numbers. With prophetic vision, the Spirit of God begins to reveal his will to man.
What are you seeing?
Do you see numbers such as a combination of 5’s (*refer to Scriptures such as Joshua 6:2–5, The gospel of John, 1John and 2John). Or a combination of 1’s (*refer to Scriptures such as Romans 1:11 and Deuteronomy 1:11 and 11:11).
