The Gift of Faith for Watching and Praying

At Gethsemane, when Jesus returned — from praying(Matthew 26:39) — to the disciples and found them sleeping. He asked them, “Were you not able to keep watch with Me for one hour?” He asked Peter, “Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak”(Matthew 26:41). Our Lord Jesus Christ is still echoing these words today, “Watch and pray!”

To be an effective intercessor you must exercise the gift of faith in your watches, as you wait in the secret place. This gift gives you the supernatural empathy to pray for your destiny partners/helpers, family members, churches, businesses, and nation. After all, Jesus instructed us to keep watch with Him. (Matthew 26:38). I believe, God uniquely designed the gift of faith for powerful and effective intercessions. Truly I tell you, this gift, if used in love and wisdom, can rouse the hand of God to bring spoken decrees — uttered during prayer—to be fulfilled.

Jesus said, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” (Mark 11:23)

A mountain is anything that comes in the way of God’s will, this can be sickness, disease, death, evil spirits, storms, etc. So, this gift exercised in the name of Jesus Christ causes the impossible to be possible. Healing the sick, raising the dead, freeing people from demons, and calming stormy seasons become a possibility. No mountain can stand against a believer who is filled with the Holy Spirit and who has learned to exercise gifts.

If you meet Christians whose prayers are frequently answered or confirmed, it is usually this gift that is dominant in their lives.
