No matter what you say in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, human beings will always be human beings and God will always be God. I learned this valuable lesson the hard way!

โ€(Romans 12:6)

If there is one gift that I have a bittersweet relationship with, is the gift of prophecy. I say bittersweet because a lot of people donโ€™t realize possessing this gift makes you a conduit for different types of prophetic utterances, and not only giving predictions. There are five kinds of prophetic utterances:

1. Predictions [or prophecies that reveal Godโ€™s secrets or promises (Amos 3:7)],
2. Confirmations
3. Warnings
4. Corrections
5. Praise and Worship [or prophetic declaration announcing the deliverance or the salvation of the Lord(1 Samuel 10:11)]

The apostle Paul said โ€œA person who prophesies speaks to people for their edification, and encouragement, and consolation,โ€ and edification is another term for โ€œbuilding upโ€. If we look at the life of Jesus, He edified others through correction and warnings, as He did with encouragement, and support (1 Thessalonians 5:11โ€“14). A classic example is where Jesus gives his disciples words of warning, He says โ€œBe on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees,โ€ he then added. โ€œThey just pretend to be godlyโ€ฆโ€ but are not godly (Luke 11:37โ€“12:1โ€“11).

On Saturday 25th August, I decided to start my vigil early and as I was praying, Jesus Christ visited me in an open vision. I looked up and saw His face with a crown on His head. His face was like a pure crystal sculpture surrounded by white light. The Lord stared at me, smiled, and said, โ€œI am the Amenโ€(Revelation 3:14)โ€ฆand it dawned on me โ€” when we prophesy we are speaking in the name of the Lord(James 5:10), and this name in which we speak prophecy is Amen!

When you receive an impression from the Holy Spirit and He leads you to share โ€” and sharing MUST BE from a place of love and sincere empathy for a personโ€™s edification โ€” a word of warning or correction, you are prophesying. By this, all prophecies must be sealed with โ€œAmenโ€ to confirm it was sent by God. Itโ€™s like writing an email on behalf of Jesus Christ, and sending it to a recipient signed off with โ€œSincerely, Amenโ€. Whether the recipient responds to the message or not, it remains in their inbox until His word is confirmed by Himself (Deuteronomy 18:22)โ€ฆ the same way you conclude with Amen after praying!

It is written, โ€œ๐™๐™ค๐™ก๐™ก๐™ค๐™ฌ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™ฌ๐™–๐™ฎ ๐™ค๐™› ๐™ก๐™ค๐™ซ๐™š ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™š๐™–๐™œ๐™š๐™ง๐™ก๐™ฎ ๐™™๐™š๐™จ๐™ž๐™ง๐™š ๐™œ๐™ž๐™›๐™ฉ๐™จ ๐™ค๐™› ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™Ž๐™ฅ๐™ž๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฉ, ๐™š๐™จ๐™ฅ๐™š๐™˜๐™ž๐™–๐™ก๐™ก๐™ฎ ๐™ฅ๐™ง๐™ค๐™ฅ๐™๐™š๐™˜๐™ฎโ€(1 Corinthians 14:1). With this in mind, always remember to exercise this gift in love as you do in faith. You are just a mouthpiece, not the Voice!
