“You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet.”

Without a doubt, the evilest, most cunning, and seductive spirit in Satan’s hierarchy has to be the Jezebel spirit. — she has been responsible for not only tearing down churches, pastors, and destroying destinies/ministries…But she has also been responsible for breaking up many marriages, and companies; along with getting many people to commit murders and suicides.

“But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works, and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve” — Revelations. 2:20–23.

The New Testament describes Jezebel as a female member of the church at Thyatira who was promoting destructive heresies and leading many into moral compromise — because she was a promiscuous self-acclaimed prophet. I believe that possibly her alleged “prophetic” ability was gained through witchcraft — she was very tenacious to gain power and authority by influencing Christians.

The Old Testament portion of the Bible describes Jezebel as the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians, who married Ahab(1 Kings 16:31). It is written that due to her influence in seeking to combine the worship of Yahweh with the worship of Baal, Ahab “did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him” (1 Kings 16:33). Jezebel is also mentioned for being responsible for the killing of Naboth and confiscation of his vineyard for her husband (1 Kings 21:1–6). She sought the death of all the prophets of Israel (1 Kings 18:4; 2 Kings 9) and even came close to killing Elijah (1 Kings 19:1–3). She was a piece of work — a seductive or provocative, manipulative, proud, and controlling woman.

How Jezebel operates in Narcissism

Much Like the character of Jezebel — the Jezebel spirit is an insidious, yet subtle, spirit. It is destructive, yet enticing. This evil spirit has duplicity, while some may be mesmerized and enticed by its harlotry — others will see the vindictive & violent nature of this spirit, and experience the full measure of its wrath.

Jezebel works with other evil spirits to directly stop the flow of the Holy Spirit in the life of believers and comes against people who hear the Lord’s voice (prophetic); people who are empathic or super empaths.

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” — 1 Samuel 15:23

This verse can be interpreted in two ways. First, to God rebellion is as abominable as witchcraft itself. A person who has a rebellious nature has the nature of a witch or warlock. Narcissists operate and can be considered witches/warlocks, who practice witchcraft. The purpose of witchcraft is to control. It is the ability to control another person by knowingly or unknowingly employing the power of evil spirits.

Cursing (Psalm 10:7, Colossians 3:8, Romans 3:13–18) is one of many weapons in the arsenal of witchcraft, which narcissists use to instill fear, intimidate, manipulate, oppress and constrain people. For example, overt verbal abuse or narcissistic verbal assault is a form of cursing (James 3:6, Matthew 5:21–22). Verbal abuse includes swearing, ridicule, name-calling, blaming, accusation, criticism, threats, mockery, put-downs, shaming, word twisting, rewriting history, and attacking personal character.

Two Faced

On the surface, Narcissists are very charming and pretty likable. Because of their need to feel important, they take titles like “Employee of the year”, and “Supermom”…They love attention and know how to give attention to make their victims feel special. Beneath the surface, a Narcissist’s charming personality is seductive with an insidious tendency for cursing and violence. They shame and bully and belittle and threaten and criticize. And often, these abuses can escalate in frequency, nature(physical or verbal), and tone.

Here is an interesting perspective on this evil spirit:

“The Jezebel spirit creates an ungodly swirl of accusations, whispers, and confusion. It works overtime to keep from getting exposed. It overwhelms the mind & releases misleading information while bombarding the ears with seductive insinuations. When you are confronting a situation where this demon is moving it will twist and turn in order to keep your spiritual eyes from seeing what is really going on. Jezebel hates the authentic prophetic function and flow. This spirit attempts to mute the prophetic senses and pervert the function. When you are dealing with a jezebel spirit there are times it feels as though your mouth is duct taped. This spirit releases extreme levels of intimidation and manipulation. It can not merely be counseled or comforted. It must be exposed, uprooted, and broken in order for true freedom to come forth. It is a grievous spirit with dire consequences and it aims to bring destruction in every situation.” — Ryan LeStrange

When Jezebel is at work — the narcissists will mix personal attacks such as name-calling, mocking responses, defaming characters, berating feelings, and judging opinions to assault the victim. To further add to the confusion, she will mix some truth with a lot of criticism. This condemning tactic most times will leave the victim feeling inferior and defeated. The assault will be so fast and intense, that the victim doesn’t have the time or energy to fight back. Over time victims suffer from a persistent sense of self-doubt; have a loss of self-esteem and self-confidence; constantly walk on eggshells.
