The Gift Of The Holy Spirit Prepares Hearts For The Word Of God

A Word of Knowledge is likened to a pickaxe used to break hard soil…

One time the Holy Spirit told me, “A Word of Knowledge is likened to a sururu (iron picks or pickaxe) used to break hard soil”…You can imagine my reaction! “SURURU?”

“…𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙨𝙖𝙬𝙨, 𝙞𝙧𝙤𝙣 𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙭𝙚𝙨…” (2 Samuel 12:31)

I later realized the purpose and importance of the revelatory gift to prepare the four types of hearts, mentioned by Jesus in Luke chapter eight verses five to fifteen, to receive the Word of God.

When Jesus said, “Some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up”(Luke 8:5), he was talking about a heart that is hard or hardened. He later explains the consequences of hard-hearted people in verse eleven of the same chapter. Really, because of the harsh condition of their hearts, the gospel never penetrates deep into their souls, rather it is stolen from the surface level of their understanding.

Truly I tell you, it is hard to convince a hard-hearted person to receive Christ, talk less prophecy [Which is still the testimony of Christ (Rev 12:17)]. They will listen to you speak, but they are too hardened to consider your words.

Then later I got an impression while I was ministering to a lady, with a rocky/stoney heart, to give her a word of wisdom; she followed the instruction by faith, and the Lord was able to work on her heart enough to have confidence in a prophetic word that was given to her a year ago. The gift of a word of wisdom is like a jembe(Plow) used for digging, breaking up soil, and removing weeds or stones. Wisdom lets the gospel penetrate deep into their souls because wisdom permeates into deeper levels of our understanding.

You see, stony hearts are likened to shallow hearts. A shallow-hearted person is constantly overwhelmed by the stones of accusations spoken to themselves or by other people, making it near impossible to be rooted in Christ(Proverbs 18:21). These people will receive the word, but take off at the sight of temptations and difficulties.

Our hearts are like a garden that God has given us to steward. We must tend and nurture it; even if it means breaking it up to expose all the weed seeds buried deep enough in our hearts. In as much as we would not intentionally desire to germinate weeds [even the thorny types of weeds], they will sprout as they are brought closer to the surface level of our understanding — after our hearts are broken up.

This is a profound mystery — but I am talking about Christ and the church.
